Apple, plans to introduce its must awaited iPhone on June 29th.  The iPhone is a multimedia (text, graphics, audio and video) and Internet based mobile phone. It’s functions include those of a camera phone, a multimedia player, mobile phone, and Internet services like e-mail, text messaging, web browsing, Visual Voicemail and wireless connectivity.  It has a 3.5 inch display screen and works by touching the virtual buttons on the screen.  It can only be purchased at Apple stores and through AT&T for around $500.  What do you think of this exciting new phone with no real key board and the many fun things to do on it?

Airlines

Continental Airlines, has the most satisfied customers among U.S. airlines according to the latest survey by J.D. Power and Associates.  Customer satisfaction means that people travelling on the airline are happy, felt good about the airline services such as reservations, boarding, baggage handling (delivered without breaking or loss), leaving the plane (deplaning), cleanliness of planes, flight attendants were courteous and helpful, and travel cost was just right for the service. It is the second year in a row that Continental has won the award. Delta Airline was the distant second airline in the same category.

For this summer, if you are flying in the US for your vacation or going to visit your Grandma, you will pay $10 more for the roundtrip airfare on the #1 airline American and #3 airline Delta. These airlines are increasing the airfare by $5 each way for the US travel.  Experts think that this increase could be due to the increase in the jet fuel prices.  It is possible that other airlines may also increase their ticket price.  Just wait and see what happens next.

Daily Stuff

So far, toy makers like Walt Disney, Hasbro and Mattel are having a good success this year as if it was Christmas already.  Experts think that companies like Walt Disney sales are growing mainly because of the popular products like Disney Princess, Cheetah Girls, Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Pixar's Cars, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Disney Fairies.  It is also expected that Disney Channel’s popular programs like High School Musical and Hannah Montana will also help the company sales to gorw.  Other companies Mattel’s Barbie and Hasbro’s Littlest Petshop are also helping their sales to grow.  This certainly is good news for the toy makers.  Why do you think good sales is a good news for the company?

Dow Corning, a multinational company specializing in Silicone based technology announced that it will soon be adding Silicone in your socks.  How often have you and people around you worry about slipping on the wooden or other types of floors?    Sock manufacturers may be one step closer to solving this irksome problem by adding silicon rubber in the new generation of socks.   Silicone rubber is already used in many types of clothes such as baby socks and sportswear.  It makes clothes water repellant (keeps water away), allows them to stretch and resist stains.  Also, because of its ability to withstand extreme heat, it allows clothing to survive more cycles in the hot dryer.  Dow Corning, was started by Corning Glass Works (now Corning) and The Dow Chemical Company over 60 years ago in 1943 to explore silicones.  Today, Dow Corning’s over 7,000 products make other things better in our daily lives.
